Monday, March 24, 2014 at 3:08PM Mike Wall’s funeral will take place on Friday 4th April. The arrangements are as follows: At Midday there will be a short service for friends and family at Bournemouth Crematorium. At 2.30pm there will be a service of thanksgiving at Christchurch Priory to celebrate Mike’s life. Everyone is welcome to attend and it would be great to see the Priory full. After the thanksgiving service, everyone will be welcomed a short distance away at Christchurch Rowing Club. Mike’s family have requested that flowers are limited to family only, but that donations would be gratefully received on behalf of Myeloma UK, a charity that helped Mike in recent years.
Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 5:32PM Unfortunately, due to pressure of work the Chairman of the Organising Committee - Kevin Ayles - has had to stand down from this role, although he remains a member of the committee. John Purkess, of BTC Rowing Club, has stepped into the breach and taken over as Chairman of the the organising committee. John has just stepped down as Chairman of the Hants & Dorset ARA, is a Hants & Dorset ARA Race Official, officiating at a number of South Coast Championship Regatta's and has served on previous South Coast Championship organising committees as well being the Regatta Secretary of Southampton Town Regatta for many years - so he has plenty of experiance and knowledge to bring to the role.
