Re-Run of POOLE REGATTA. Saturday, 6th August, 2022.

Poole Rowing Club have announced that they will try to re-run their cancelled Regatta on Saturday, 6th August, 2022. it will start at 12:00 due to tides and we are going to drop the J14/J16 double events as a result. Revised invite to follow.

We have been notified by Poole Rowing Club that due to the weather forecast their Regatta tomorrow - Saturday, 2nd July, 2022 is cancelled!

Further information on a possiblr re-schedule to follow.

​Southsea Regatta will not be rescheduled in 2022.

​Unfortunately our optimism at being able to reschedule Southsea Regatta on 6^th August has taken some pretty hefty blows in the last 24 hours.  Quite a lot of the external support for the regatta is available but none of our three safety boat drivers and experienced crew members are available.  We need a minimum of two safety boats with drivers with Southsea Regatta experience.  In addition, six experienced club members are not available because they had booked holidays during this spare weekend, leaving just four experienced people to organise regatta set up, etc. on the day  We can’t see a way to run a safe regatta without experienced safety boat drivers and crews or the club members who are unavailable.

Regretfully I have to confirm that Southsea Regatta will not be rescheduled in 2022.

Hope to see you on 24^th June 2023 for next year’s regatta.

I'm sorry to say we have decided to call off Southsea regatta tomorrow - hopefull you've already heard via different routes however sending out via email on the program distriution list to clubs / association secretaries / regatta officials for completeness.

The regatta committe have been keeping an eye on the weather over the last few days and the course and conditions are not good. Tomorrow's forecast has stronger winds and a less favourable wind direction and is due to deteriorate throughout the day. This means conditions would be very difficult to start with and racing would probably be called off around midday. It's not the choice we wanted to make but feel it's the only sensible option.
