Southsea Regatta is on

Southsea have been following the weather forecast during the week, and their decision today is that the regatta is on!

Met office weather forecast is:
·        10:00 WSW 9 gusting 15
·        12:00 WSW 11 gusting 18
·        14:00 WSW 13 gusting 22
·        16:00 WSW 13 gusting 22

The gusts are quite strong in the afternoon, but the good news is it is a westerly so off shore,  and high tide is 10AM so as the wind gets stronger the tide will lower and we will get more off shore protection.  With these winds around midday, we may need to take a view on some of the small boat and junior events but we can sort this with the umpires on the day. It might be a bit wet but it'll be coastal!

Please still call in the morning as per details in the programme for final confirmation.

Return of South Coast Championship Trophies

We have been trying to find out if Herne Bay R. C., who are organising this years South Coast Championship Regatta, wanted Clubs to bring back Trophies won last year to Southsea Regatta on Saturday, as has been the custom in the past - but we had not received any instructions from them regarding this or any alternative arrangements.
We now understand that if Clubs were planning to - or would like to - return any Trophies at Southsea Herne Bay will accept them and failing that they should be delivered to the Herne Bay Clubhouse, in a clean condition, by the Friday before the Championships - the 2nd September - at the latest.

Lymington Rowing Club. SPONSOR A BRICK ROWING CLUB CAMPAIGN

The Committee and members of Lymington ARC would like to take this opportunity to inform all concerned that after many years of hard work the club is on the brink of moving to new premises, you may or not be aware that the new building has been constructed by the developers Redrow under the terms stated by the County Council both of which the club is indebted to. Thus allowing the club to prosper and continue providing the sport and enjoyment we have all enjoyed well into the future as it includes 125 year lease.

The proposed move will hopefully take place in the next six to twelve months.

However the club is still responsible for all the internal fit out of the building to include Boat Racking, Plumbing, Furnishing, internal walls, and doors, and much more. Also due to a last minute extension to the project there is an external wall the club has the responsibility for the building of, estimates for all of this is in excess of £50.000. Whilst the club has raised a large sum and is actively seeking grant funding on many fronts we fear there will still be a short fall and with that in mind the club would like to extend this unique opportunity to its member, past members, friends, and supporters to help secure the clubs long term future by sponsoring a brick towards this cause and any individuals or families donating £25 or more will have their names on a roll of honour on permanent display within the new premises. Donations can be made directly to the clubs bank account number 31396068 sort code 30-80-63 alternatively cheques payable to Lymington Rowing club addressed to  Mr M A Viner 15 May Ave Lymington Hants SO419DQ

If bank transfer used please email how you would like name or names displayed on honour roll to

mrmarkviner@hotmail.co.uk if paying by cheque please write name or names on rear of cheque

Thank you for your support Lymington A.R.C
