British Rowing - Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop

James Andrews, Head of Pathways | British Rowing has advised that they are hosting a Women's Training Day at Maidstone Invicta on the 18th of November and one at Bristol University on the 25th. This is open to anyone who meets the criteria and we would gladly welcome anyone from H&D and their coaches who would like to attend. More information can be found here... https://www.britishrowing.org/gb-rowing-team/rowing-for-gb/england-talent-pathway/womens-training-days/ I've also attached a poster you may wish to distribute as well. Ladies who meet the criteria from H&D Clubs would be very welcome.
The provisional CARA Fixture List in pdf format can now be downloaded from the H&D Web Site - go to downloads - 2018 information section.
To: All Wessex Region Club Safety Advisiors.
As part of your affiliation to British Rowing all affiliated Clubs are asked to complete an annual Club Safety Audit each year.
The deadline for clubs is November 27, 2017 with suspensions coming in from November 28, 2017 for those clubs who have not submitted on time.
By now your Club Water Safety Officer (CWSO) should have received a link to complete the audit online, as well as a link to a secure club safety folder on Google Drive. If your CWSO has not received this email then they need to contact safety@britishrowing.org, and check that BR have the correct contact details on the British Rowing Club Management system
As in previous years, clubs that don’t submit their audit by Monday, 27 November 2017 will automatically be suspended from racing in BR events - which may be extended to H&D ARA events. Please note that this will be implemented with immediate effect from Tuesday, 28 November (BR events only).
British Rowing will publish reminders via their website and by emailing your Regional Rowing Chairmen and those clubs who haven’t submitted their safety audit will be notified two weeks before as well.
The 2017 safety audit process:
1. Regional folders on Google Drive are shared with Regional Rowing Safety Advisors (RRSAs)
2. 2017 Safety Audit link is shared with Club Rowing Safety Advisors (CRSAs)
3. Club folders on Google Drive are shared with CRSAs
4. CRSAs complete their safety audit
5. RRSAs and British Rowing are notified of submission and sent a PDF copy
6. Copies of the clubs’ submissions are saved in an editable format in the relevant Google Drive club folder
7. RRSAs to review submissions and contact CRSAs directly to confirm acceptance or comment on points to address
8. RRSAs to note the date of acceptance on the Contacts spreadsheet in the Google Drive region folder.
Please direct any questions on the Audit and the process to British Rowing.
